When it comes to getting 6 pack abs, the exercises that most people do are not only ineffective but some can cause injuries as well. While a lot of men want a large muscular chest, arms and shoulders the fact remains that the vast majority of the population all have the same dream of having six pack abs.

Unfortunately it's also a fact that this is a very unrealistic goal for most people. For one thing, regardless if you do the effective abdominal exercises or ineffective ones you'll never see your ab muscles if you have a layer of fat covering them.

Before continuing, I'd like to clear up one important fact about 6 pack abs, it's actually an eight pack. But, since most people are familiar with the term six pack abs, we'll refer to them as six pack abs.

One of the most important parts of valuable abdominal exercises is the involvement of your core muscles but unfortunately too many of the abdominal exercises used and suggested nowadays miss those vital muscles completely.

Your core muscles, act to stabilize balance and support real-world every day movements. If the exercises you do for your abdominal region on a continuous basis concentrate on just your external abdominal muscles, and neglect your core muscles, you can end up having an appearance of a distorted abdominal region.
